Mickey Pretzels & Mickey Krispies
Mickey Pretzels
Who doesn't love a good soft pretzel!? These are so yummy fresh out of the oven with some cheese sauce or even good ol' yellow mustard! If you want to edit the recipe to a sweet version you can sprinkle with cinnamon/sugar or just sugar or sprinkles instead of salt.
Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 cups warm water
- 2 tsps salt
- 4-5 cups flour
- 2/3 cups baking soda
- 1/2 tblsp sugar
- 2 1/2 tsp active dry yeast
- 4 tblsps butter, melted
- 1 egg, beaten
- course salt for sprinkling on top
Directions:
- Combine water, sugar, salt & yeast in a large bowl. Let sit for 10 minutes or until the mixture begins to foam.
- Add the flour and butter, and mix on low speed until well-combined.
- Mix on medium speed for about 2 minutes until dough is smooth and pulls away from the side of the bowl.
- Spray new bowl with oil. Place dough in new bowl, cover with plastic wrap, and let it sit in a warm place for 1 hour or until the dough has doubled in size.
- Preheat oven to 450˚F. Line baking sheet with parchment paper and spray with oil.
- Bring a medium pot of water and the baking soda to a boil.
- Turn dough out onto a slightly oiled surface and divide into 8 equal pieces. Roll out each piece into a 12-inch rope. Loop a dough rope to form a circle in the middle, but with about 2 inches of dough on the ends. Roll the dough ends into coils on top of the circle to form a Mickey shape. Place onto prepared baking sheet. Repeat for remaining pieces.
- Place pretzels into boiling water 1 at a time and boil for 15 seconds.
- Remove from water with flat slotted spoon and place onto lined pan.
- Brush tops of pretzels with beaten egg and sprinkle with salt.
- Bake until golden brown, about 10-12 minutes.
- Transfer to cooling rack for 5 minutes before serving
enjoy!
Mickey Krispies
Mickey Rice Krispie treats are my favorite thing to get at the confectionery in Magic Kingdom...along with others stuff but these are 100% a must! We all love a good Krispie treat in this house, so I decided to make some but with a little extra magic.
They are beyond simple! Just follow the directions for Rice Krispie treats on the back of the cereal box, we add extra marshmallows. Then once cooled, use a Mickey shaped cookie cutter to cut little Mickeys! Decorate with melted chocolate, dip them in chocolate 1/2 or all the way, sprinkles, m&ms...whatever you want!
enjoy!
